Jibber jabber

Roman has started jibber jabbering a lot! I love listening to him talk in what seems like another language. He obviously knows what he's saying, but we don't always. Two words he has picked up and says rather clearly are Daddy (of course, I go through 9 months of pregnancy and labor and all he will say is Daddy!) and Pappy. It's really sweet and makes us giggle. Ryan had him get on the phone the other day while he was talking to Pappy, and he said Pappy for him! I think that made Pappy's day.

Sofia's shadows

Sofia is somewhat obsessed w/ all kinds of shadows right now. And she is scared of them too. Last night as we were getting ready to put her to bed she had us talk about all the shadows in her room and wanted us to touch them.  Lordy! This gets tiring after a while, because she tends to talk about them over and over again! But it's still cute at the same time. She will say in her cute, little voice--the sadow (leaves out the h everytime) is scaredy (scary)! She is getting better but still gets scared at times.

Potty Talk

Reece is our deep thinker...One morning while he was going to the bathroom, he had an ephiphany if you will. He started asking me if he will have to work when his son goes to school--as if he really knows he will bear a son one day, maybe he's prophetic too--anyways, he continues by then asking if he will have to get up at 6am to go to work. I reply by saying, "well this is possible, some people do get up very early for work." He then exclaims, "Yes! I will give my wife a kiss every morning before I leave for work!" And might I add that he then said.."just like daddy does to you." That made my heart smile, because most mornings I am not up when Ryan goes to work and Reece is in our bed most mornings..so he must be paying attention and notice that he kisses me before he leaves. I am really trying to teach Reece and eventually Roman to respect and cherish women. Most importantly their mother, sister, nana's, cousins, friends, etc. It is so important for a man to treat a woman with care. In today's society I think we've missed this very crucial part of a man's upbringing--not that I think I have it all figured out, I just want my sons to love and honor the women in their lives.
