Playing Catch-up!

Sorry it's been so long since our last funny post about the kids! We've been busy and just got over being sick! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and Happy New Year!

One morning before school Reece asked daddy if he could have some money for ice cream/drink. Ryan's reply was "Sorry buddy I don't have any money for you today." Reece then says, "daddy work really hard today so you can make enough money for me to buy ice cream or drink!"

This past week Ryan took Reece to GameStop next to Walmart so Reece could use some of his Christmas/Birthday money to buy something he liked. Reece saw a steering wheel and pedal set for $179 and was very excited and wanted Ryan to buy it but to his dismay daddy said no. Reece then says..."daddy you need to work really really hard at your job this week so we can have enough money to buy this!" Reece takes this whole money earning thing to another level!

Sofia was sick over Christmas break and even spent a night in the hospital because she had some trouble breathing. Ryan stayed with her so that she wouldn't feel alone.  The nurses were really nice to her and gave her a few princess stickers, a stuffed puppy dog, a new baby doll, & even a purple blanket that had been quilted and donated to the pediatric floor to be given to the patients!!  Despite all of this attention and her obsession with stickers she was not too impressed with the idea of getting chest x-rays.  The technicians bribed her with stickers and when she questioned whether they would be princess stickers they apparently lied & said that yes they were sure they could get her some princess stickers.  She 'smiled' for her chest pictures and even croaked "cheese" at the appropriate times but when the male x-ray tech presented her with boy stickers and NOT princesses, she wanted absolutely nothing to do with them or him anymore.  That's our Sofe Bofe... she wants it her way and she won't take it any other way.

Sofia also provided some laughter while having a conversation with Ryan a few days after her hospital visit.  Ryan was explaining to her how important it was for her to love Jesus.  He told her that, as her parents, we would always love her too and we would do our very best to raise her to grow up to be a good christian girl.  Quick as a whip she replies with "no daddy, I'm going to grow up to be a good Ava girl... not Christian."  ...from the mouth of babes haha.

Here in this picture Sofia is modeling her latest makeup trend...markers! I thought she was coloring quietly at her table while I was doing dishes..Nope! She thought she would color on her eyelids. ;)

Roman's world revolves these days around Cookie Monster, Elmo, Nonuts (which means doughnuts), pappy, & the word 'NO' spoken with great conviction.  His nana H sent him a large plush Cookie Monster and a matching sized Elmo for him to open for Christmas.

He was quite amused!!
